The weather is looking pretty good for tomorrow, so let's get out and ride.

Let's meet at Mount Pleasant Elementary School at 11am ready to ride. The school is located just off 421 North. If you don't know where...just call me 667-4871 and I can tell you where to meet.

We'll venture out Champion Road and visit the Darby Community. There's a few good climbs on Gladys Fork and Buffalo Cove Roads. And we'll cruise down 268 and return on Champion Road.

Mileage will be about 45 miles.

Casual pace. We'll regroup at the turns as needed.

Hope to see you there! Cool

Lori,
Thanks for posting - sounds like a good one. I'll be there if at all possible, but have houseguesting going on this weekend so looks doubtful. Enjoy!

Enjoyed it, gang. Sorry about being so slow...not riding a bike for long distances will do that to ya!

I was inspired by the talk at the Darby Fire Station and rode up to the Parkway via Triplett. It's just as difficult as I remembered from the '80s. I rode back to the school via 421, which was a unforgettable experience. Got back about 2:45...45 miles and about 3800 feet of climbalicious goodness!

We just missed you by about 15 minutes. We left the school about 2:30...was kinda worried about you to tell the truth.
That sounds like an awesome ride, but we'll do it sometime on the single bikes...I don't think we want to drag "big blue" up that mountain! Confused Glad you had a great ride and you got back safe.

BTW...what was your max speed coming down the mountain? Very Happy

44.9 near the first sandpile. Could have gone a bit faster, but I was sitting up so I could look in my rear view and keep an eye on what was behind me. You and Richard could have hit 60 on the tandem!
