The Cookie Challenge is a 32.4-mile non-supported bike ride sponsored by the WCHS Key Club. Registration opens at 8:30 and the ride begins at 9:00, Saturday morning, May 15, in the rear parking area at Wilkes Central High School. The $10 fee ($5 for students) benefits New Life Mobility, a nonprofit that trains dogs to aide disabled/handicapped people. There is also a 5-mile loop for noncyclists and children. The 32-mile route:

0.1 L Moravian Falls Rd.
1.6 R Rt. 18
1.8 L Falls Rd.
6.2 L Rt. 18
12.8 R Beaver Creek Rd.
17.6 R Rt. 268
26.9 R Germantown Rd.
30.8 L Cemetery Rd.
31.8 L Moravian Falls Rd.
32.4 back to WCHS parking lot
