| I came up from Raleigh and did Dark Mountain for the first time (Burn course). I almost ran over a coyote trap! It was about twenty feet in. Never seen a trap right on a trail before! I loved the trail, though. Very nice! |

Chris, What kind of trap? A leg-hold??? Can you give more details about this? I was considering going up there to ride, but if there are leg-hold traps on the trail, I don't think I want to be anywhere near there... |

Come ride! The trails are safe.
There was in fact a trap placed on the trail but not by the US Army Corps of Engineers who manage the property. This was the act of some dingaling being just that. The trap has been removed and there have been no reports of dangerous wildlife at Dark Mountain. Just watch out for the ankle biters that sometimes chase riders on the section of trail the locals call Dog Town.
All is good at Dark Mountain. Register for the BURN too! |

| It was a trap but not for a Coyote. It was baited with Clif bars and S-Works tires... Yes, DD was trying to catch Firecracker! But it didn't work! |
