This is copied from the Boone Area Cyclists forum to invite our Wilkes County Friends:

White Top Century: Leave from the Creston Post office, 9am, Saturday. Route: Laurel and Forge creek to Mt. City, 421 to Shady Valley and Damascus, 58 to Konnarack, 18 to 600 and up to White Top (Elk Garden, where the AT crosses near Mount Rogers. Yes the highest point in VA.) A few turns on top of the mountain to the White Top depot, and down the mountain on Horse Creek to Lansing and back to Creston on 88.

Food stops as needed in Mt City, Shady Valley, Damascus, Konnarack, White Top Station, Lansing, and Creston.

Pace will average 13-14, two big mountain climbs, one serious (20 mile). A little gravel below White Top Station.

This is the most scenic/remote century in the high country, very rugged.
