Registration is now open for the 9-1-1 Adventure Challenge!

After a 2 year hiatus, Bushwhack Adventures is bringing back a NC Triangle Area favorite! First founded in 2000, the 9-1-1 Adventure Challenge will be designed to introduce new adventure racers to this exciting, can't-get-enough-of-it sport while also giving experienced racers the chance to sharpen their skills. Teams will be mountain biking, trekking, orienteering and swimming at Lake Crabtree NC for 6 to 8 hours as they navigate their way to checkpoint flags. The course format will be modified rogaine, with teams being given lots of freedom to choose the route they follow to find the checkpoints. Scoring will be based on the accumulated point values of the checkpoints found.

The event will start and finish at Camp Whispering Pines in Umstead State Park, Raleigh NC with portions of the race taking part throughout the Umstead State Park and Lake Crabtree County Park. Race check-in will take place starting at 7am with start expected for 8am. More details will be posted soon, but expect some of the traditional Bushwhack perks like a technical race shirt, post-race meal, quality mytopo race maps, and more!

This race is part of the Checkpoint Tracker series and registration will be handled through the website: http://www.checkpointtracker.com/ Additional race details can be found at the race webpage: http://911ac10.blogspot.com/

Umstead State Park has put racer limits on the 9-1-1 Adventure Challenge of 100 competitors so do not sit on the fence for too long!

The 9-1-1 AR is slated to be a great mid-summer challenge! We are going to try to keep you under the cover of woods for much of the race and give you at least a couple chances to cool off in some water!

Tagged/vetted the o-course late last week....we have some really nice spots picked out for you to visit. There are also a few "dry-foot" creek crossing if you are brave enough to hop between big downed trees mid way across a creek!

Still a few spots left and time to get registered for this August 7th race.

Hope to see you out there!
