Hi Everyone,

You may have already read about the winter training series as Steve announced yesterday. If you haven't already done so, please check my other post for the guidelines for these rides. Our goal is to bring together riders who are out there during the winter trying to get in some base miles. We will be striving for a consistent mileage rather than speed.

The guidelines call for 50-mile rides, with the option for a metric century if we have a pretty day. I am very happy to announce that our first "winter" ride will be a metric due to the beautiful weather predicted!

DATE: Saturday, November 14, 2009
TIME: Ready to Roll at 10:00 a.m.
START: Start at Y-Express at West Park
ROUTE: New RAW Metric Route, approx. 63 miles
STOPS: Amish Store at mile 26 (bring money)
Linney's Mill water-only stop at mile 45 (bring drink mix)
PACE: 13-15 mph - NO-DROP - regroup at all turns as needed

EVERYONE IS WELCOME! Please join us if you can.

Thanks!
Lou McLean

^^^ what he said. Well, 'cept for the moonpie, that is. Though I'm sure if I'd actually had a moonpie today, an honest to goodness genuine Amish moonpie ®, no less, it would have been the best one ever. But then again, the Amish do make your BEST moonpies. No...no, really, it's true! Oh yeah, I've always said that.

Had a great time today, Lou. I owe ya...$. Next time, I'll be smart enough to bring cash. Next week's Gatorade refills & pumpkin muffin, are on me. You just tell us where the Moonpie Ride is gonna be....

Lou,

Sorry I missed the ride, had planned to but woke up with "cold" symptoms.

Turned out, mopped around most of weekend. Hopefully, next time.

Rick,
Hope you're all better now! There will be plenty more rides! I'm keeping a close watch on the weather for Saturday - right now it looks dry and not too cold. If that forecast doesn't change we will try for another metric. Watch for the weekly announcement tomorrow evening.
Sure hope you can make it!
