HP&A Information

Register online: Online registration is available now for no extra charge. Online registration closes Thursday, July 23th, 2009 at 12:00 a.m. Pacific time.

 

Register the day of the ride: Ride-day registration opens at Traphill Elementary School in Traphill, N.C. at 7:00 a.m. Saturday, July 25th, 2008. For logistical and safety reasons, the ride is limited to 300 registered riders. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged.

Registration fee is $30. Your registration fee includes rest stops, ham-dispatched support, event timing, a 2009 Hurt, Pain & Agony T-shirt, HP&A logo bike water bottle and BBQ baby back ribs with all the trimmings, catered by Sagebrush Steakhouse of Wilkesboro. Subway sandwiches will also be available.

An Hurt Pain & Agony commemorative jersey will be available. Details coming soon.

Four rest stops will be provided, staffed by members of the Brushy Mountain Cyclists Club. Portable latrines will be available at the Fox Hunters Paradise, Glade Creek School and Blue Ridge Parkway/Vestal Road rest stops.

Three SAG vehicles will patrol the HP&A route to offer assistance as needed.

100% of your registration fee will benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life campaign. Ride expenses have been covered by our generous sponsors (listed at left).

Restrooms and a shaded picnic area are available at the start/finish, courtesy of Traphill Elementary School.

Hot showers are available at Traphill Volunteer Fire Department, located less than a mile from the start/finish.

Enjoy music by DJ Ken Spence before and after the ride. Please contact Ken for all your music, karaoke and P.A. rental needs. Mention HP&A when booking your reunion, sporting event or holiday party and Ken will donate 12% of his fee to the American Cancer Society. (336) 778-2616.

All riders participating in the HP&A are required to wear ANSI/Snell approved bicycle helmets and observe all applicable traffic laws. Click here to view our safety notes on the course.
